I am sooo sorry!
July 2nd, 2008
I am sooo sorry I haven’t written in so long – I was out of town, and then I had technical difficulties!
You know… I feel like it’s been too long since I’ve heard from my wife, or her parents (kind of like it’s been too long since I’ve written on this webiste – though it’s very different). I’m like… Yvonne, come on!!! It’s been long enough already – come on out! Where are you? Your parents too – where are y’all? This isn’t funny anymore. I mean… don’t you sometimes fell like… i just can’t believe they’re gone!!!
So… how do you go forward when you wanna keep looking back over your shoulder, hoping they’ll be there… What works for you – how do you do that?!?! I know we shouldn’t keep looking back – we should look forward, but to what?!?! We’ve gotta create a new life worth looking forward to – we have to!!!

I really don’t know how to move on sometimes either. I lost my Daddy 6 years ago and my Mom 11 years ago. I do really good for a really long time, but then something, a song, a phrase, or just a picture can bring everything back as if it only happened yesterday. I
have move forward because now I have 2 new grandchildren since my Dad passed away and all 3 of my grandchildren since my Mom passed away. I can see characteristics in these grandchildren that remind me of my parents, especially my Dad. He was a man who loved to joke with people & play jokes on people. I can see that and even though I move forward, I feel like I am also looking back and wishes that they could be here to see these precious children. I was an only child, so it has really been harder on me to move forward, since my parents were all I knew when I was growing up. I guess my point is, sorry this is so long, that I am not sure if we ever quit looking back to some degree. In a way this may be good as we can remember the fun times and funny stories about them. I am not sure if this will help you, but I think looking back from time to time is good memories of our loved ones.

I agree – I think looking back, at times, is essential. I believe looking back helps to keep ‘em alive in our memories. Thank you.
