Why do funerals cost so much?!

I hear that from time to time. Some funeral homes advertise that they are ‘affordable’, which would lead people to think that other funeral homes aren’t – that’s just advertising! We are not the most expensive funeral home in Waco, and the ones that are less expensive really aren’t that much less expensive. You know… funerals do cost a fair amount of money, but when compared to what you get, for that money – at least at our place – I don’t think funerals cost all that much – I really don’t. The other day – well, a few months ago – I made a purchase that was fairly significant, but it was something I needed and I felt I was getting a good value. I got to thinking about that as compared to our costs at WHB, and I realized… while funerals are a significant cost, they don’t cost all that much – they really don’t. I think from now on, when I hear someone say funerals cost too much, I’m gonna say, “No, they really don’t”. I can’t speak for the other funeral homes around town, but I can tell you that at our place, families who call upon us for service realize a very good value. In fact (I believe I can honestly claim) that we offer the greatest value. I guess that’s why we have been, and still are, the leading funeral home in central Texas…
