Some of you reading this may know of someone with a chronic illness, or perhaps someone who’s been in a wreck, etc. To call, or email, and check on that person is a very good thing, but for the ill person, or their caretaker, to answer that call or that email can be very time consuming, especially if there’s a lot of ‘em. I know; I was there, when my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. (By the way, yesterday would have been our 26th wedding anniversary!) Anyway, I just want to make you aware of a free website, www.CaringBridge.org on which that ill friend may have ‘a page’. Here’s how it works; a free page is created on the site – that person (the person with the password – usually the ill person or the caretaker) may go on there each day and post an update. They make this site known to all their friends who then may log on each day for an update instead of calling. That way, the story, or update, only needs to be told once. Plus all those caring friends may check in at their leisure. The important thing is to stay in touch. Friends may post a personal message of concern or encouragement. I hope I’m describing this clearly – perhaps you should just check it out yourself – then share this info with anyone you know who could use this (free) service. They’ll surely thank you!
