Dear Brother - I have my photos of my family [and DEAREST friends who are our 'chosen family,'], living and passed, displayed all together... because we ARE a Family and that doesn't end because some are no longer with us physically.
We are Family 'til the end of all things.
The photos captured the smiles & wonderful memories - and those few precious photographs we display representation all the LOVE we have shared 'as a family'. I FEEL that love everytime I look at our family in those photos... and thus, the love continues to share itself.
I don't want to hide the love away. Yes, it hurts to lose the source of that love when loved ones pass but those of us who remain, who were the recipriants of that love, we can simply look upon those photos and relive the love.
Think of it this way - GOD is Love & we gaze upon 'representations' of Him every day..... and we feel the Love, not the pain.

A dear friend of mine once wrote, "We will ‘Rise Up’ and be part of the solution to the hard times & part of the creation of the good times, which are surely to come to those who LOOK FOR WAYS TO MAKE GOOD!!" I know you are listening and know that God has a real purpose for your life. It is not an easy road you walk, but it is the road God wants you to follow. Blessing to you for your faith is strong and your walk is shared with Christ, for he carries your yoke. Thank you for reminding all of us that we need to be in sync with HIM.

Hatch, I've always wondered how people who have been happily married for a couple of decades or more, and lose a spouse, can remarry so quickly. It seems to me, after a decades-long marriage to your soul mate, coupled with the speed at which years seem to come and go, four years is a relatively short period of time to be expected to remarry...or even date. I've been single (as in "unmarried") by choice for over 12 years and choose not to date for most of the same reasons you mention here. Now, when people ask me "why", I can refer them to your post for an eloquent answer. :)

Hatch...you always have such a wonderful way with words. Thank you for your words, they give me strength and redirect me to God. Most times it doesn't feel "perfect" it feels wrong since my son, Matthew died, and I struggle with turning that over to God, thanks for the reminder.
